Sports Performance Training

  1. Blood Flow Restriction (BFR) Training

What is BFR?

BFR is a training technique that uses the restriction of blood flow with low loads to elicit improvements in muscle size and strength. It allows blood flow into the muscle, but restricts it coming back out. This causes a metabolic stress to the muscle cells and a release of hormones (growth hormone & insulin growth factor) to promote strength gains.

BFR allows you to train at lower loads while achieving the same results you would get training at higher loads

Why use BFR?

BFR has been shown to help build back muscle strength faster, maintain strength in season or after surgery, increase workout efficiency, and decrease wear and tear on tendons and soft tissue.

2. Sportsmetrics™ Knee Injury Reduction and Performance Improvement

Sportsmetrics™ is a scientifically proven, six-week jump training program that incorporates proper stretching, special plyometric exercises, and strength training. It focuses on developing overall leg strength as well as improving balance in strength from the front to the back of the thigh. Through specialized progression of jump/plyometric drills, athletes learn proper techniques for jumping and landing; increase overall leg strength; improve symmetry in right to left leg power and improve vertical jump. Sportsmetrics™ is the first program scientifically proven to decrease knee injuries and decrease impact forces at the knee.

3. Arm Care

A program designed for athletes to prevent shoulder and arm injuries during their season by enhancing athletic performance and keeping them on the field longer. This research-based approach is designed to target the specific soft tissue, joint, and movement adaptations seen as a result of the repetitive microtrauma that occurs from the high eccentric muscle demands of sports participation. This arm care program is intended to both restore the necessary ranges of motion required for peak performance and re-establish muscle activation of the shoulder stabilizers that get weak with repeated use.

Physical Therapy

During our one-on-one initial physical therapy evaluation, you will receive an evidence based physical therapy assessment and movement analysis designed to identify specific weaknesses, deficits, and areas for further optimization. This helps with the creation of a tailored treatment plan specific to your individual goals and needs.

Follow up sessions are 60 min long with one-on-one care. They are designed to incorporate a multiple of interventions that will further help progress you towards your goals. There are specific packages if you may need several follow up visits.

What to Expect

We come to you! Each physical therapy session is delivered by a Doctor of Physical Therapy for all manual, exercise, and rehabilitative interventions. You will be working solely with a licensed therapist and not a technician or assistant. We value your time and health. We want to make sure you get the care you deserve so you can attain the results you want.
